LPCC says to vote YES on 1183

By bredbaker - Posted on 06 October 2011

If it seems like you have heard this one before, you have.  Last years Initiative 1100 is back again but this year it is Initiative 1183.  In short it breaks the monopoly of the State to be the sole distributor and retail outlet of hard liquor products in Washington.

The Libertarian Party of Clark County firmly supports this Initiative, as the state has no business being in retail or the distribution of retail products.

Voting YES on 1183 means an extra $200 Million to the state revenue and $200 Million to local revenue.  That money, in a perfect world, could be used to shore up sagging public safety in our cities and counties.  A vote of YES would allow the free enterprise system to once again take hold in Washington just as our Constitution guarantees.  It will mean real jobs for salespeople, drivers, retail workers and warehouse workers.

Take Government out of retail business.

“In almost all matters, the real question should be: why are we letting government handle this” – Harry Browne
